MW31.10 Computational Business Intelligence
Prerequisites and prior knowledge:
Knowledge of Business Informatics, Operations Research, and Statistics at bachelor’s level.
Module content:
Case studies and current issues in Business Intelligence are addressed by students under guidance. The course consists of lectures for half of the time and practical workshops for the other half, in which case studies are independently solved using modern software tools commonly applied in practice. Lectures and workshops alternate on a weekly basis. Topics covered include, for example, business process management, process mining, and data analysis.
Prerequisites for admission to the module:
Initial experience in a programming language is advantageous but not required to successfully complete the course.
Module composition:
Lecture (1 contact hour per week), tutorial (1 contact hour per week), project work (2 contact hours per week)
Examination format:
Written submissions of case study solutions (50%), 60-minute written examination (50%). Passing the written examination is a prerequisite for passing the module. Any deviations in the weighting of the components in the overall grade will be announced at the beginning of the module.
