Business Information Systems, esp. E-Commerce and Digital Business

Led by Prof. Dr. Michael Wessel, the chair's team is engaged in the design, analysis, and use of information systems. The current focus areas of the research projects, which are primarily empirical-quantitative, include the management of digital platforms, the development of consumer-oriented e-commerce solutions, the creation of digital and data-driven business models, the potentials of digital entrepreneurship, as well as the interaction between humans and AI/algorithms. In teaching, the professorship covers the field of business information systems in its full thematic breadth and offers in-depth events on the focal topics of e-commerce and digital business.
