BW31.10 Seminar E-Commerce
This module is offered every second semester (starting in the winter semester).
Contents:
Work on selected research questions related to changing topics in the field of Business Informatics, particularly e-commerce; review of current research literature and, where applicable, implementation of (technical) solutions or conduct of empirical studies in small groups.
Learning and qualification objectives:
After successful participation, students are able to
- research, narrow down, understand, and analyze topic-related academic literature,
- structure their own findings in a meaningful way, present them in written form according to academic standards in a term paper, and present them orally,
- critically discuss academic research questions.
Examination format:
Term paper (approx. 60%), presentation (approx. 30%), participation in discussions (approx. 10%); each component must be passed individually. The overall grade is calculated as the weighted sum of the individual grades. Due to the changing overarching seminar topics, components that have already been passed must be repeated if the seminar is retaken. Dates and the exact weighting of the components will be announced before the start of the course.

Prerequisites for admission to the module examination:
The learning objective of critical discussion skills requires the presence of seminar participants and their active participation in discussions. Admission to the examination therefore requires regular attendance. In the event of absence due to illness or scheduling conflicts with other compulsory commitments, this must be reported to the module coordinator immediately and appropriately documented or credibly explained. In the case of absence without appropriate proof, or excessively frequent absence with regard to achieving the learning objectives, admission to the examination may be denied. Further details are governed by the examination regulations or the examination committee.
