BW31.4 Specialisation Module Digital Business Models
This module is offered every second semester (starting in the winter semester).
Contents:
Importance of digital business models for companies; definition and differentiation of business models in relation to digital strategy and digital business processes; economic evaluation of business models; methods for the development and early testing of business ideas and business models.
Learning and qualification objectives:
After successful participation, students are able to
- explain the strategic importance of digital business models for established companies and start-ups,
- evaluate and develop different types of digital business models (e.g., data-driven business models) for various industries, markets, and customer segments,
- explain and apply different methods for the development and modeling of business ideas/business models (e.g., Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas),
- develop suitable prototypes for testing business ideas/business models,
- test business ideas in a data-driven manner at an early stage, select them, and further develop them into business models.
Examination format:
Project report and presentation in small groups (approx. 70%) and written examination during the examination period (approx. 30%). The exact weighting of the components in the overall grade will be announced at the beginning of the module. Both components must be passed individually. Participation in the written examination is therefore only possible if the project has been successfully completed. In the event of a possible retake of the written examination, the project performance will be credited.
