Lisa-Maria Gerhardt is a Research Associate at the Chair of Organization, Leadership and Human Resource Management (Peter Walgenbach) at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Business Administration for Engineers and Natural Scientists from Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. Her research is situated at the intersection of institutional theory, organizational sociology, and higher education research. She is particularly interested in the notion of universities as organizational actors, appointment procedures for professorships—including requirement profiles, appointment management, and employer branding—as well as the interrelations of multiple competition and academic collegiality within higher education. Since October 2024, she has been primarily responsible for conducting the research project “Universities in Multiple Competition: Changes in Job Advertisements for Professorships, 1990 to 2020,” funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and led by Peter Walgenbach as Principal Investigator.
