Jena Graduate School "Human Behaviour in Social and Economic Change" (GSBC) Show content

The Jena Graduate School "Human Behaviour in Social and Economic Change" (GSBC), funded by the Federal Programme "ProExzellenz" of the Free State of Thuringia and hosted by the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena (FSU Jena), is an interdisciplinary doctoral school aiming at providing the best research environment. The research approach together with other disciplines including psychology, economics, sociology, applied ethics and law, offer deeper insights into how individual behaviour and structural changes are related.

Graduate College "Economics on Innovative Change" (GK - EIC) Show content

The DFG Research Training Group 1411 "The Economics of Innovative Change" is a distinguished PhD programme in Economics, jointly offered by the School of Economics and Business Administration of the Friedrich Schiller University and the Max Planck Institute of Economics, both in Jena, Germany. We offer a comprehensive PhD-level training to 40 outstanding young graduates. The programme is international and highly committed to quality in teaching and research. The PhD-Students benefit from a combination of theoretical and empirical research, applicable methodological skills and a mix of quantitative and experimental economic research.

International Max Planck Research School on Adapting Behavior in a Fundamentally Uncertain World Show content

The IMPRS Uncertainty, a joint project of the Max-Planck-Society and various universities, is focused around the individual and collective decisions and behaviour under uncertainty. This PhD programme combines three fields of research: economics, psychology and law. The cooperation partners offer a unique framework facilitating an interdisciplinary education and joint research activities. Included is a 4 week Summer School in Jena as well as the annual Topics and Thesis workshop organised at the respective institutes.
