New Research Project on the Gender Wealth Gap

Our new research project looks at how wealth is distributed within couple households in Germany, a topic that has received far less attention than wealth inequality between households.

The project aims to address this gap by conducting a survey among German couples to analyze the distribution of wealth within their households and to examine how perceptions of this distribution shape political preferences for wealth redistribution. A particular focus lies on the role of gender specific wealth differences: the so-called Gender Wealth Gap. 

The research project receives funding from "Gender in Focus", a program that supports researchers in integrating and analyzing gender and sex aspects within their research.
