Conference of the European Public Choice Society in Madrid
Published:
Last week, Prof. Andreas Freytag and Ege Asutay participated in the annual meeting of the European Public Choice Society (EPCS) in Madrid. The conference brought together more than 200 scholars and provided an excellent opportunity for engaging in constructive discussions on ongoing research projects, offering valuable inspiration for future work.
Prof. Freytag presented the paper "Do Not Replace Doctors and Schools by TikTok: Explaining Electoral Successes of the German Right-Wing Populists", which was written in collaboration with Mr Asutay and our student assistant Lena Meyer. This was followed by a presentation by Ege Asutay on the question "Do Populists erode Civil Society?". In the corresponding paper, Mr Asutay and his co-authors, Niclas Berggren and Christian Bjørnskov, highlight the damage to civil society associated with right-wing populist governments.
